Love the tree bridges. Did you walk across one?

The tree bridges are unbelievable. But my favourites are Around Meghalaya, last row first pic and second row last pic. I can almost smell the mist. :)

Tommy and Takai have posted my comments already.But I also like the sacred forest photos.Acha is the third row last photo something very talked about religious rocks which we often see in discovery and natgeo?

Good semblance, eh? :)

@Takai-yeah yeah :)

@parama: Thank you :)

@Tommy: I walked across three! And the villagers use them every day.

@Shrabasti: Not for nothing is it called Meghalaya.

@sreejita: They vaguely resemble Stonehenge, yes, but the ones in the picture were only about three feet tall. They look so dramatic only because I shot from a low angle. But Meghalaya is strewn with Khasi monoliths which have some religious significance, and some of them are over ten feet tall.

Ohmygod. I should have seen this last night. Then I wouldn't have missed the mutton we had for supper. I'd still be on speaking terms with my dada.
Last night, all the photos I ever took in my life got deleted because of...well, nobody, really, though I blamed my dada. I was in shock all night because I loved them so much. I didn't eat, I fought with my family, and did a number of other insensitive and idiotic things.
This makes the whole thing seem so pointless. An inconsequential.

Sroyon said...

@Ravis: I am sorry to hear that. But how does the whole thing seem pointless now?

There are better things to do.
Better things to see.
Better things to photograph.
Better things to sigh over.

Rara Avis said...

And most of the better things are found in your blog.

And call me by my name, or some form of my name anyway, won't you? Ravis sounds queer. Particularly because I haven't been Ravis for so long. I can hardly remember her.

Who is to say that a photo of the most exotic landscape has any more innate value than, say, the view from your rooftop?

Rara Avis said...

I say so. Don't get me thinking along those lines again. That's exactly what I told myself when they mocked me saying my photos were so ordinary anyway. It didn't elevate my spirits at all.

I want a more detailed description of your trip to Meghalaya, which I can use instead of a Lonely Planet when I visit it. :-)

Stupid jokes apart, these photos need no description, but I am hungry for more words on that lovely state.

I don't like writing detailed trip reports, and anyway I don't think I could do justice to Meghalaya. So I'm sorry, but for more words on the lovely state, you'll have to look elsewhere.
